Teak shield

Do you want to give your teak garden furniture extra protection against the elements? Then the teak shield from &MOSS is the perfect solution. The shield creates a nearly invisible, protective layer on the wood. This prevents dirt and algae from affecting your garden furniture. Coffee, wine, lemonade, and even mayo stains are a thing of the past. Use the teak shield at least once a year for optimal protection. If you use your garden table intensively, we recommend treating the tabletop with the shield at least twice a year.

How do you use the shield?

1. Start by covering the surface of your workspace with a rag to prevent stains on your terrace. Then put on protective gloves.
2. Has your outdoor furniture been outside for a while? Then check if it is dirty or has green deposits. If this is the case, we would recommend to first treat the outdoor furniture with a teak cleaner before getting started with the shield.
3. If the outdoor furniture is clean and dry, shake the teak shield. Then apply a thin layer of the shield with a soft, lint-free cloth.
4. Let the outdoor furniture dry for about 4 hours and then apply a second layer of shield.
5. After the second layer, the garden furniture must dry again. This time approximately 24 hours, preferably in a place where it is not exposed to the various weather conditions (sun, rain, etc.). Is this not an option for you? Then try to choose a dry, not too sunny day to carry out the treatment.
6. When the 24-hour drying time is over, you can use the garden furniture again. Keep in mind that the shield needs about a week to fully harden and work optimally.

Is your garden furniture new and would you like them to have a weathered look? Then make sure to not treat the teak with the shield immediately, but wait for about 4 to 8 weeks. By then, the furniture will have obtained a more pale yellow color. If you skip this step, the garden furniture will keep its honey-brown color longer since the teak shield slows down the weathering process. If you prefer your teak garden furniture honey-brown, then treat it first with a teak protector before applying the shield.
