In principle, all garden dining tables can be left outside — they are called garden tables for a reason! However, the material of the table significantly impacts the lifespan of your outdoor dining table. Some materials are better suited for outdoor use than others.
Tables that can safely remain outdoors include:

- Cast iron garden tables

Can a wooden dining table stay outside?
The short answer is yes, a wooden garden dining table can stay outside. However, its lifespan largely depends on the type of wood and maintenance. How big is an outdoor dining table for 6 people?
The ideal size for a 6-seater garden dining table ranges between 200 and 260cm in length. A 260cm table naturally offers more space, allowing for wider chairs compared to a 200cm table. If you prefer a round outdoor dining table, a diameter between 130 and 150cm is ideal.
How big is an outdoor dining table for 8 people?
An outdoor dining table for 8 people should ideally be between 240 and 300cm in length. If you choose a 240cm table, be mindful not to pair it with overly wide chairs, as this could limit movement or even prevent the chairs from fitting between the table legs.
